After the completion of his surgical training, Dr. Kademani moved to Minnesota to join the Department of Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester where he was an Assistant Professor. In 2008, he joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota as an Associate Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has served numerous roles including Chairman of the Department of Surgery, Fellowship Director for the Oral/Head and Neck Surgery Program, Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Chief of Staff at North Memorial Medical Center.
In 2020, Dr. Kademani received the Committee Person of the Year Award for his participation on AAOMS committees.
Dr. Kademani is a member of numerous professional societies, including the American College of Surgeons and the American Head and Neck Society. In addition to authoring or co-authoring over one hundred books, abstracts, chapters, monographs, and publications, he has authored two textbook’s ‘Atlas of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery’ and ‘Improving Outcomes in Oral Cancer’. He has delivered over 300 invited lectures nationally and internationally on a variety of topics, predominantly in head and neck pathology, oral cancer and reconstructive head and neck surgery. He has served as President of the Minnesota Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has served as on the Examination Committee for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and was recently elected as Director. He has a number of roles associated with the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, including being appointed as Chair of Committee of Continuing Education and Professional Development, Research Committee and the Committee on Oral/Head and Neck Oncologic and Reconstructive Surgery. With the American Dental Association Dr. Kademani, serves on the Clinical and Scientific Affairs Committee. His practice is dedicated to the care of head and neck cancer, oral cancer, salivary gland tumors, thyroid, skull base surgery and reconstructive head and neck surgery, orthognathic, TMJ, sleep apnea and dentoalveolar surgery. He prides himself on delivering the highest quality and compassionate surgical care to his patients.
In his free time, he enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time with his family. He also has a soft spot for cars.

He is a past president of the Israeli Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a member of the Israeli national dental scientific council. He also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Face to Face journal of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (IAOMS) and as a member of the executive committee of the board of directors of IAOMS.
Dr. Alterman has published over 40 manuscripts in the peer reviewed literature, and six book chapters.

He attended the University of Kentucky for his undergraduate and dental degrees, the University of Texas Health Science Center – San Antonio for his medical degree and completed his General Surgery internship and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center and San Antonio Military Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. His surgical experience in facial trauma was attained during a 21-year military career highlighted by the acute management of ballistic and other injuries of warfare, as well as performing secondary and tertiary facial reconstructive surgery during various staff assignments at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center, the National Naval Medical Center – Bethesda and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland. He lectures and has published extensively on the management of ballistic and high-energy transfer injuries to the craniomaxillofacial skeleton, comprehensive reconstruction techniques for facial trauma, and the use of computer-aided surgical planning and patient-specific implants for anatomic rehabilitation after catastrophic craniomaxillofacial injuries.

Martin B. Steed, DDS, FACS serves as Professor and James B. Edward’s Chair of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. He was the Emory University School of Medicine Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program Director from 2007 to 2013 and Chief of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery service at Emory University Midtown Hospital.
Dr. Steed is a Board Director for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS)and a consultant for the Committee on Dental Accreditation.

Nardy Casap-Caspi is a full professor at the Hebrew University and leads the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Hebrew University-Hadassah Faculty of Dental Medicine. After completing his residency at Hadassah Medical Center, he pursued advanced training with a two-year fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. Prof. Casap actively contributes to the global maxillofacial surgery community. He serves as a Member at Large of the executive committee of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (IAOMS) and is a former Chairman of the Israeli Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His leadership roles have included serving as Israel Chancellor of IAOMS, Chairman of the Israel Dental Association Scientific Committee, and Chairman of the National Accreditation Committee for Dental Specialization Programs. With over 94 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, Prof. Casap has made substantial contributions to the academic field. As a widely published author he has contributed more than 100 publications to the professional literature and is co-editor of the internationally acclaimed textbook – Atlas of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery which has been translated into multiple languages now in its second edition. Dr. Tiwana was also a member of the Education Committee for the International Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and is the Past Chairman of the Board for the Osteoscience Foundation. Dr Cameron Lewis
Cameron completed his training in oral / maxillofacial surgery gaining the Australasia Fellowship (FRACDS OMS) in 2008. He spent the next 17 years working in both public and private practice. Over this time he was heavily involved in specialist training and held numerous political positions including, NZ Director of training, Board of Studies and Chair of the Regional Surgical Committee. His interests include management of facial trauma, orthognathic surgery, TMJ surgery, alveolar bone grafting for cleft patients. More recently has been involved in several trips to Fiji with Smiles for the Pacific, a voluntary organisation aimed at supporting local OMS colleagues in Fiji and also the provision of surgical services at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva. Cameron’s lecture aims to outline the OMS service in Fiji, the case mix that local surgeons face daily, the barriers to care, and furthermore how ANZAOMS can support our OMS colleagues in the Pacific.

Dr Deepak Kademani

Dr. Kademani’s dental, medical degrees and surgical residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery education was at the University of Pennsylvania. This was followed by a fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery. He was subsequently board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Head and Neck Oncologic and Reconstructive Surgery. In 2004 he was the recipient of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Faculty Education Development Award.
After the completion of his surgical training, Dr. Kademani moved to Minnesota to join the Department of Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester where he was an Assistant Professor. In 2008, he joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota as an Associate Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has served numerous roles including Chairman of the Department of Surgery, Fellowship Director for the Oral/Head and Neck Surgery Program, Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Chief of Staff at North Memorial Medical Center.
In 2020, Dr. Kademani received the Committee Person of the Year Award for his participation on AAOMS committees.
Dr. Kademani is a member of numerous professional societies, including the American College of Surgeons and the American Head and Neck Society. In addition to authoring or co-authoring over one hundred books, abstracts, chapters, monographs, and publications, he has authored two textbook’s ‘Atlas of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery’ and ‘Improving Outcomes in Oral Cancer’. He has delivered over 300 invited lectures nationally and internationally on a variety of topics, predominantly in head and neck pathology, oral cancer and reconstructive head and neck surgery. He has served as President of the Minnesota Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has served as on the Examination Committee for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and was recently elected as Director. He has a number of roles associated with the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, including being appointed as Chair of Committee of Continuing Education and Professional Development, Research Committee and the Committee on Oral/Head and Neck Oncologic and Reconstructive Surgery. With the American Dental Association Dr. Kademani, serves on the Clinical and Scientific Affairs Committee. His surgical experience in facial trauma was attained during a 21-year military career highlighted by the acute management of ballistic and other injuries of warfare, as well as performing secondary and tertiary facial reconstructive surgery during various staff assignments at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center, the National Naval Medical Center – Bethesda and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
